Everyone involved in confined space work including managers, supervisors, safety observers and entrants require an awareness and understanding of the Confined Space Regulations, especially the need to avoid entry to confined spaces if at all possible.

Tyco can offer a range of tailored training modules built around the five core issues to be considered when undertaking work in a confined space to ensure that the work is completed safely.

Tyco also offer a range of training levels to suit your applications:

Confined Space Awareness

This awareness seminar is NOT a substitute for a confined space entry course and is only offered where a Tyco confined space support team is managing on-site confined space operations and offering a full rescue and technical support service.

Confined Space Entry Course

A one-day course which includes awareness and knowledge modules, instruction in the correct use of atmosphere testing equipment and self-rescue escape breathing apparatus. With practical exercises in the correct method of entry to a confined space and self-rescue.

Advanced Confined Space Entry & Rescue Training

A two-day in-depth course which provides a greater understanding of the basic awareness and knowledge modules together with instruction in the use of self-contained breathing apparatus and a range of rescue equipment including practical rescue exercises.

All our manufacturer-approved trainers provide hands-on training in the use of SCBA equipment to ensure that everyone understands the different types of breathing apparatus, their limitations and how to work safely.

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Course

All our manufacturer-approved trainers provide hands-on training in the use of SCBA equipment to ensure that everyone understands the different types of breathing apparatus, their limitations and how to work safely.

This 1-day course provides instruction and practical training in understanding the types of respiratory hazards and in the inspection, operation, fitting and working with breathing apparatus.

Quantitative Face Fit Testing

The HSE Approved Code of Practise (ACOP) states that where full tight-fitting face masks are being used, employers are required to carry out quantitative face fit testing to comply with the COSHH 2002 Reg7.

We are able to offer Quantitative Face Fit Testing in line with HSE Protocol 282/28 which relies on the wearer’s subjective assessment of face seal leakage.

Tyco offer a wide range of respiratory protection, from simple negative pressure respirators with filters, to fully Self Contained Breathing Apparatus sets (SCBA) for both working, and rescue use.
