Under the confined space regulations, your business is legally required to have a set of emergency arrangements in the event of an accident for those working in temporary or permanent confined spaces.
Prevention is the Best Plan
The Tyco approach to emergency arrangements and planning involves understanding how to prevent an accident in the first place. Tyco will identify the specific risks within each confined space on your site and provide you with a plan tailored to suit your requirements. In particular, we look at risk areas including access, egress, atmosphere monitoring and working at height.
Complete Entry Rescue Team
Confined Space legislation highlights that an employer’s reliance on local emergency services to cover an emergency requirement may not be sufficient in the event of an accident within a confined space.
Should you identify that you require on-site emergency support, Tyco can provide fully equipped experienced rescue teams to respond to incidents. Their role is to locate stabilize and safely extract a casualty from the confined space and deliver them to the medical emergency services.
A good comparison for this service is that we provide the equivalent of the first responder who gets someone out of danger and prevents injury or conditions from deteriorating further before handing the casualty on to the medical emergency services.
On-site First Aid
All employers have a responsibility to provide first aid cover for their employees and visitors. To ensure that issues such as staffing levels and periods of high activity on-site do not impact on your ability to meet basic legal requirements, we can provide experienced and well equipped first aid cover.
You can be safe in the knowledge that all of our personnel are HSE First Aid at Work trained and are qualified to use AED’s, medical gases, stretchers and other emergency equipment. Our on-site first aid personnel come equipped to your site ready to deliver high quality first aid response.
Emergency First Aid Training
Ensuring correct care is given to a casualty before the emergency services arrive can often be lifesaving. Our experienced first aid trainers are emergency services personnel, giving your employees the knowledge they need to treat injuries as the first responders to an emergency.
Our Emergency First Aid Course covers:
- Recognising and treating injuries at work
- Treatment of burns
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Using resuscitation equipment (AED and medical gases)
- Raising the alarm and working with the emergency services
Please note: this training is relevant to all First Aid incidents not just those in confined spaces.
