Fire fighting foam is made of three ingredients. These are a foam concentrate, water and air. When these three ingredients are mixed, it creates a foam solution that is a stable mass of small, air filled bubbles with a lower density than oil, gasoline or water.This unique combination makes the foam solution very fluid and enables it to readily flow over liquid surfaces to blanket fuel surfaces. It can quickly suppress flammable vapours, cool burning fuels, and hot surfaces.

Shipping remains the most important method of transport for bulk goods. In particular, for crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals, tankers are the only cost effective method of moving them long distances from source to end user. Foam is obviously the answer to protecting such vessels but it can also play a vital role for other ves sels such as carriers for hold protection, car ferries for car decks and all vessels for engine rooms and machinery spaces.

Also, fire fighting vessels must be available for marine fire fighting. These need large throughput monitors with long throw capability as well as a whole range of ancillary fire fighting equipment.

Marine environment demands the best materials because of the highly corrosive atmosphere. Not only are high salt levels present but the equipment has to withstand the effects of large fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

Hi Expansion HOTFOAM™

HOTFOAM™ concentrate is a fully synthetic foam compound which has been especially developed to meet the requirements of the high expansion system using inside air unique technique. It is also suitable for any other application where the highest quality, top performing foam concentrate is required. It is intended for use as a 2% proportioned solution.

HOTFOAM™ concentrate forms a very stable foam when expanded by extremely hot and aggressive combustion gases where traditional high expansion foams/detergent foams will see their expansion often reduce by half or more affecting drastically foam performance of the designed high expansion system.

Mainly used for inside air foam systems in enclosed spaces. HOTFOAM™ is suitable for applications such as marine engine and pump rooms.
